Paranormal
The strengths of this option is that it is a very popular type of horror film following the Paranormal Activity films which were all very highly anticipated. It also wouldn't take many actors as they usually include a family at the most and we wouldn't have to dress anyone up as the antagonist. The weaknesses of this is that it would be hard to do the editing as it would be difficult to make things move around and stuff like that without the person doing it being seen. It would also be quite hard to make ours unique as there are many different paranormal stories that all base around the same kind of story.
Clown horror
The strengths of this are that it wouldn't be that hard to dress up the antagonist in a scary clown suit and will mean that they wouldn't be as embarrassed either as they are hidden. Also they are also very popular at the moment because of the whole thing with the film IT and the thing at last halloween with everyone dressing up as clowns and scaring people in public. The weaknesses are that again it would be hard to make ours unique as it's hard not to make the same story as IT.
Monster horror
The strengths of doing this is that it is quite unique as it isn't too popular at the moment so we have found a gap in the film industry. It also wouldn't need too many actors as the antagonist would be CGI. The weaknesses are that as it isn't very popular at the moment this could mean that ours isn't very popular and also it would be very hard to do CGI to make the monster look good and would probably be expensive and money is something that we do not have to do this project.
In conclusion, after analysing all these options we have decided to go with paranormal, this is mainly because most paranormal films are quite similar and we have an idea which is new and exciting which is different to the typical thing of a family being in a house that is haunted. It will also be a challenge to know how to edit out the person who is making the paranormal things happen and this will adapt our skills and I also think it will be the best to create suspense and tension in a trailer.
