Genre

Genre is a way of categorising a text through a style and form.

There are four main conventions to genre;

• Character and story
• Set
• Technical
• Audio

Sub genre

A sub genre is a more specific type of a genre to narrow it down even further a few examples of this are;

- Chick flicks

- Courtroom dramas

- Disaster

- Sports

Hybrid genre

This is when two genres collaborate together, this is good when attracting a wide audience
-Comedy horror (Scary Movie)
-Teen horror (Final Destination)
-Sci-fi horror (Alien)
-Action horror (From dusk till dawn)
